Major win for the Democrats

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

It’s always nice to hear good news. And we have some REALLY good news — coming straight from the Pennsylvania Supreme Court. In a stunning loss for Republicans and a significant win for Democrats, the Pennsylvania Supreme Court has picked a new Congressional map. And the one they chose was the DEMOCRATIC map.

This map, known as the Carter Plan, won the day by a 4-3 margin. The Democrats and Republicans had been locked in a fierce battle over what map to use. Democrats wanted to do things fairly. Republicans wanted to gerrymander, of course.

Now a lower court HAD previously weighed in, telling the Pennsylvania Supreme Court to go with the GOP’s map. But this plea was ignored. This 5-page decision favoring the Democratic maps is said to have the “least change” from the current makeup. In other words, it’s the least Gerrymandered.

The mood was celebratory on social media – at least it was for democrats. Many Republicans are crying foul. I am not surprised as this is one fair map, and we all know the GOP hates fair. So, let’s thank the Pennsylvania Supreme Court for doing the right thing and also Pennsylvania’s Governor Tom Wolf, who fought fiercely for this map. This is what happens when we fight. Good things occur. And we’ve hardly begun.
