Major news in Trump trial jury selection
It took three and a half days, but the entire jury – plus alternates – has been seated in Donald Trump’s criminal trial. So much for the narrative that no jury could ever be seated in a Trump criminal trial. And so much for Trump’s antics aimed at intimidating people from wanting to serve on the jury. So what now?
This afternoon there will be a hearing to discuss the parameters of Trump’s potential testimony. The judge will decide which of Trump’s prior bad acts (E. Jean Carroll etc) can be introduced by the prosecution if Trump does decide to testify (this is probably the part where Trump will make up some excuse not to testify).
This will clear the way for opening arguments to begin on Monday morning, and then trial will be officially underway.
