Major new trouble for Lauren Boebert
When House Republican Lauren Boebert realized that she was in serious danger of losing her seat in 2024 to Democratic candidate Adam Frisch, she decided to instead run in a neighboring House district that’s far more conservative.
At the time I wrote that this was an odd move, because while Boebert probably had a 40% of defeating Frisch in a general election in the CO-03 district, she was going to face a bevy of Republican primary opponents in her new CO-04 district.
Sure enough, a new straw poll has Lauren Boebert in fifth place in her new House district, polling at just ten percent. It’s hard to take polls at face value this far ahead of the election. But even if Boebert is twice as popular as this poll suggests, she’d still only be at 20%.
Again, it’s very early. But it’s fair to say that Lauren Boebert is in serious trouble. The Democrats have no chance of winning the far right CO-04 district, but it’s far from a given that Boebert will end up being the Republican who wins that race. Meanwhile Adam Frisch is still the Democratic candidate in CO-03, and he still has a realistic chance of winning, and you can donate to his campaign here.
