Ivanka Trump reaches a new low

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

In the wake of the New York Times op-ed from an unnamed senior member of the Trump White House official who revealed that Donald Trump is dangerously mentally incompetent, we’ve watched Trump’s world steadily implode. Trump has become obsessed with the author’s identity, and is ripping his administration apart over it. The only thing missing was Ivanka Trump stepping into the op-ed fray and making the whole thing even worse. Sure enough, that’s now happened.

It’s long been widely reported that Ivanka Trump and her husband Jared Kushner have been trying to shove Chief of Staff John Kelly out the back door of the White House. This might have something to do with Kelly’s decision to limit everyone’s direct access to Donald, which has left people like Ivanka and Jared with far less influence. Now that Donald is obsessed with getting revenge against the op-ed author, Ivanka is trying to use it to her advantage.

Ivanka and Jared are now trying to convince Donald Trump that the op-ed was written by none other than John Kelly, according to a lengthy new profile from Vanity Fair (interestingly, Kushner’s lawyer is insisting that Vanity Fair’s source is wrong). Is it possible that Kelly is the author? Sure. But as Palmer Report has spelled out, there are other people in the White House who come closer to fitting the profile created by the author in the op-ed. Trying the ‘Hey Dad, it’s got to be John Kelly simply because I don’t like John Kelly’ argument is dishonest and disingenuous, to say the least.

What stands out the most here is that, even with Donald Trump’s criminal scandals closing in on him and his own people going to prison left and right, the people closest to Trump are primarily focused on destroying each other in a petty feud for influence, in an administration that’s unlikely to exist for all that much longer. Are these people delusional about the fact that most or all of them are going to prison, or are they just trying to take down their internal rivals before they themselves go down?
