Louie Gohmert just got hit in the wallet
Louie Gohmert is old school in the sense that he was incoherently deranged back before it was trendy for House Republicans to be incoherently deranged. Gohmert has always been a few marbles short of a head case, and now he’s officially short in the wallet as well.
Louie Gohmert and another House Republican stooge named Andrew Clyde tried cheating their way through the House metal detectors today, and because they got caught, they’ve been hit with $5,000 fines according to CNN. This is notable because simply not paying these fines isn’t an option. If they don’t cough up, it’ll be deducted from their paychecks. So Gohmert and Gohmert Junior are indeed now each five thousand bucks lighter in the wallet.
If they try this stunt again, the fine the next time will increase to $10,000, and will then be another $10,00 per incident. So if the Gohmert twins keep dodging the metal detectors each day, they could wipe out their entire annual salaries within a matter of weeks.
