Donald Trump’s Fox News pal Lou Dobbs goes completely off the deep end

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

Lou Dobbs went off the deep end a long time ago, which is how he lost his gig at CNN and soft-landed in the gutter at Fox News subsidiary Fox Business Network. He’s infamous for obsessive hatred of immigrants, his inability to pronounce words, and his slavish devotion to Donald Trump. Now Dobbs is has gone particularly far off the deep end even by his nonexistent standards.

Even as Donald Trump prepares to hold his authoritarian freak show of a Fourth of July event tonight, U.S. military leaders are increasingly expressing concern about Trump’s blatant show of military force at the event. This prompted Lou Dobbs to post this psychotic tweet: “No wonder these Snowflake Generals haven’t won a war since 1991: Military chiefs concerned about Donald Trump’s July Fourth celebration.”

That’s right, Lou Dobbs – the kind of Republican who never shuts up about his supposed love and respect for the military – just referred to America’s top military generals as snowflakes. This is one of the most singularly anti-American tweets we’ve ever seen. In fact it’s the rare bender that might actually put Dobbs’ job in jeopardy.

We’ll see what happens on that front. But this is a reminder that in the Donald Trump era, the scummiest of right wing bottom feeding pundits are no longer even pretending to be reasonable, or sane, or patriotic, or American. Trump has motivated the nation’s garbage to drop any sense of pretense when it comes to just how trashy they truly are. Someone should also tell Lou Dobbs that we can still see what he’s tweeting, even though he blocked Palmer Report on Twitter.
