Donald Trump is losing the fight he picked with the FBI

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

Quick, name anyone who picked a fight with the FBI and won. Need more time? You won’t come up with anyone. No one can pull that one off; just ask Richard Nixon. And while we can have a debate on another day about whether the FBI is too powerful, right now every red blooded American needs to be rooting for the FBI to take down the illegitimate criminal traitor who’s illegally occupying the office of President of the United States. Turns out the traitor is losing.

Donald Trump, who has gone from real estate fraudster to reality television punchline to the most notorious traitor in the history of the United States, is down to his last few swings. He’s desperate to fend off the investigation into his growing number of scandals, which threaten to send him to prison for the rest of his life. He knows he can’t stop the FBI from exposing him, so he’s resorted to the tactic of trying to smear the FBI before to can get to him. So how’s that working out for him?

Now polling reveals that roughly two-thirds of Americans say they believe the FBI over Trump (link). One around one-fourth of Americans believe Trump over the FBI. We’re assuming the other ten percent of the people in this survey have no opinion because they’ve been living under a rock for the past two years. In any case, Trump’s goal has been to convince the American public that the FBI can’t be trusted, so that no one will believe the evidence and proof the FBI exposes about Trump. And that goal has failed.

Donald Trump can tweet angry and dishonest garbage about the FBI all he wants. He can annoy the FBI Deputy Director into retiring a few months earlier than he wanted to. But after months of trying, it’s clear that Trump has done virtually nothing to convince the American people to believe him over the FBI. He picked the wrong fight, and he’s losing it.
