Looks like the DOJ is taking yet another angle for flipping a cooperating witness against Donald Trump

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

If you know anything about federal criminal cases against crime bosses, it’s that they take quite a long time to come together – and that they’re nearly always built by flipping people upwards until the big fish is reached. Even as impatient observers demand that it all be done by magic wand, and the doomsday pundits take advantage of that impatience by falsely claiming that the DOJ is doing “nothing,” the facts keep making clear that the DOJ is in fact trying to flip multiple cooperating witnesses against Trump.

We’ve already seen this with the cooperating plea deal that the DOJ cut weeks ago with Roger Stone’s driver. We’ve also seen strong evidence that the DOJ is targeting Steve Bannon with a much broader criminal case than the mere contempt charge that he’s been hit with thus far. And of course months ago the DOJ indicted and arrested longtime Trump money man Tom Barrack, essentially accusing him of acting as a foreign spy in the process.

Barrack didn’t cut a plea deal at the time, and is instead on track to go to trial this September. But now Barrack appears to suspect that he’s going to get hit with superseding indictments before trial, and he’s filing in court to try to get an answer on this. Notably, there is strong evidence that the DOJ has in fact continued to dig deeper into Barrack since indicting him.

At this point it’s fairly obvious that the DOJ is looking to flip Tom Barrack against Donald Trump. Barrack’s newfound desire to find out just how much trouble he’s in, suggests that he may be considering cutting a plea deal against Trump. It’s notable that Barrack is suddenly going this route, just as it’s becoming clear that the DOJ is also trying to force Stone to cut a deal against Trump. The first person to flip on Trump will get the most lenient deal, and perhaps even immunity. We’ll see who goes first. Someone will.
