Looks like someone on Donald Trump’s legal team is throwing the rest of them under the bus

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

When the news broke that Donald Trump’s attorney Evan Corcoran had drafted a statement for the DOJ falsely claiming that there were no more classified documents in Mar-a-Lago, and that Trump’s other attorney Christina Bobb had signed it, it immediately became clear that both lawyers were facing legal trouble. After all, the DOJ went into Trump’s home after that letter was signed, and found precisely the classified documents that supposedly weren’t there. Now things are getting uglier.

Days ago the news broke that Bobb has hired an attorney of her own, and is willing to cooperate with the DOJ. Now the Washington Post is reporting tonight that Trump asked yet another one of his lawyers, Alex Cannon, to tell the government that all of the classified documents had been returned – and Cannon refused, because he suspected there were still classified documents at Trump’s home.

It’s not clear who within Trump’s orbit has given this information to the Post, or what that person’s motivation is for leaking it. But it sure does make things difficult for Bobb and Corcoran. If one of Trump’s lawyers suspected there were more classified documents at Trump’s home, why did two of Trump’s other lawyers tell the DOJ that they knew for a fact that there were no more documents?

At the least, this is going to make it more difficult for Bobb and Corcoran not to flip on Donald Trump. And now everyone involved has to worry about who within Trump’s legal circle is leaking these ugly details to the media. When allies reach a breaking point where they start leaking things about each other and can no longer trust each other, that’s usually when they start flipping on each other.
