Looks like some Republican Senators have finally figured out what I’ve been saying all along about the 1/6 commission

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

It’s interesting that a few GOP Senators are suddenly supporting the 1/6 commission. It’s as if they’ve finally figured out what I’ve been saying all along, which is that if they don’t pass it, Pelosi will just appoint a 1/6 select committee instead, and it’ll be worst case scenario for the Republicans.

It’s still not clear how they’re going to get from the current 3-4 Republican Senators, to the necessary ten. The odds are strong that the bipartisan commission vote will still fail. Which will be perfect for th Democrats, who will get to make their own 1/6 committee, while hitting the Republicans for having dared to filibuster against something as crucial to national security as investigating the Capitol attack.
