Looks like Putin has somehow managed to lose Switzerland

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

If Switzerland is known around the world for one thing, it’s its neutrality on the world political stage. Switzerland does business with everyone, aligns itself against no one, and famously didn’t take sides in World War II.

Yet the President of Switzerland just announced that it’s “very probable” that his nation will move to freeze Russian assets as soon as tomorrow. This represents a fundamental shift in Switzerland’s relationship with the world – and it’s the latest sign of just how eager everyone is to finish off Vladimir Putin.

This comes after Cyprus, the alleged Russian money laundering capital of the world, decided to go along with the rest of the European Union in locking Russia out of the SWIFT banking system. Even if Putin is too far gone to care about losing this much money, the major Russian oligarchs surely have to be wondering if Putin is now more trouble than he’s worth, and if it would be more profitable to simply oust him.
