Looks like House Republicans have a whole new plan to keep Jim Jordan from becoming Speaker

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

We’ve already seen various House Republicans make clear that Jim Jordan does not currently have the votes to become Speaker. We’ve also seen various House Republicans make clear that they intend to keep Jordan from getting the votes. Some of them are even publicly asking Hakeem Jeffries to help them make someone other than Jordan the Speaker. Now some House Republicans are floating yet another strategy.

Jim Jordan is supposedly planning to force a full House vote for Speaker this Tuesday, even as he tries all kinds of bizarre stunts such as getting Sean Hannity involved. Again, Jordan isn’t close to having the votes. But just to make sure he doesn’t get there, a group of House Republicans are now leaking to the media that they’re nominate some other unnamed Republican on Tuesday, so that House Republicans have someone else to vote for.

This is how you know House Republicans are getting desperate. Jim Jordan is still officially their party’s nominee for Speaker. Yet House Republicans are now threatening to essentially run a primary challenger against Jordan in the race for Speaker, just to make sure he loses. House Republicans must really hate Jim Jordan. And they appear to be nowhere near being able to elect a Speaker.
