Looks like Fox News didn’t get the memo
I adore metaphors and similes. You know that. But sometimes, if misused, they do more harm than good. Sometimes, when used the wrong way, they can induce, in many a person, deep and swelling belly laughter that can last for a long time.
So behold, readers! Behold because I have a blazing new one brought to you fresh from the gaslighting television screens of Fox non-news. Speaking to Howard Stern, President Biden said he would debate Donald Trump. Of course, we know Trump won’t do it. At least, my friends, SOME of us know.
Fox does not seem to have gotten the memo. I say this because Fox host Emily Compagno went bonkers on air and declared we have a “Nancy Kerrigan situation” on our hands. Fox — the place rotten metaphors go to lie.
Now, many of you may Remember Kerrigan. She is the ice skater who was attacked by people close to fellow ice skater Tonya Harding. So this host (with a straight face) announced that President Biden will SABOTAGE Donald Trump like Harding did with Kerrigan.
“It will probably be a Nancy Kerrigan situation,” she said. “Where right as Trump’s walking out, they like snip the mic: Oh no! We tried! We showed up! There was a flat tire!”
This is what passes for journalism these days? Republicans always do this whenever Biden comes off as strong. It’s as if they’ve put themselves into a trance and started to believe their own bullshit.
So they can’t seem to handle it when Biden cheerfully interrupts their Biden is senile narrative. The truth is glaringly obvious, and it’s not a pretty sight. The fact is that it’s the traitor who is panicking; it’s Trump who will not show up, and they know this.
Yet, they continue to lie to their audience (something they do daily), or they’re in a complete state of delusion.
