House Republican Liz Cheney rips Donald Trump to pieces, says she’s voting to impeach him

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

We saw this coming, but it’s nonetheless a stunning development. House Republican Liz Cheney has announced that she’s voting to impeach Donald Trump this week. Not only that, she’s ripping Trump to pieces and directly blaming him for the domestic terrorist attack on the U.S. Capitol.

Cheney issued this statement: “The President of the United States summoned this mob, assembled the mob, and lit the flame of this attack. Everything that followed was his doing. None of this would have happened without the President.”

This is a big deal for a few reasons. Liz Cheney is a far right conservative, so she’s giving cover to other far right House Republicans to support impeachment. This also puts a ton of pressure on House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy to do the same, as Cheney is widely believed to be looking oust McCarthy as the House Republican leader.
