Liz Cheney comes out swinging

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

What has former Congresswoman Liz Cheney been up to? Quite a lot. And Cheney has heard about the new Speaker in the house — Mike Johnson. And to say she is not thrilled is an understatement. Liz Cheney has come out swinging in a big way against new House Speaker Mike Johnson.

Cheney says she knows the new Speaker well and describes him as “dangerous.” Ouch! That is not exactly a compliment. It gets worse. Lix said that although Johnson SAYS he is for the Constitution, his actions after January 6 say otherwise.

Liz made these comments on a podcast hosted by the University of Virginia’s Center for Politics. Liz says that Johnson tried to get over one hundred GOP members to sign onto an amicus brief with the Supreme Court. Guess what said brief was about? This was for support in overturning the 2020 presidential results.

“He was acting in ways that he knew to be wrong,” Liz said. “So it’s a concerning moment to have him elected Speaker of the House.” Liz’s statements could not come at a worse time for Johnson. He has only just started his new career (sarcasm) and is already being laughed at and derided, and now Liz Cheney has called him “dangerous.”

“I think,” Liz said. “That the country will see the measure of his character.” Actually we already have. Let’s hope he is ousted before doing too much damage.
