Lindsey Graham has mentally unstable meltdown
South Carolina Senator Lindsey Graham needs a reality check. And that check is this: He is not the President of the United States of America. I say this because Graham sure is acting like he thinks he IS the President. The confirmation hearings for Judge Katanji Brown Jackson have started. And sitting in his chair at the hearing, Graham gave a new definition to the word “sullen.”
I have never seen anything like it. Graham pouted. He fumed. He made faces. Susan Collins should be very concerned. And when Lindsey spoke, his (usually) meek little voice was a thunder-cry. It was a thunder-cry for sullen attention-seeking Republicans everywhere.
And one word was prevalent. Childs. That’s Judge J. Michelle Childs, to be exact. Judge Childs was a contender for the nomination, but Biden chose someone else. This appears to bother useless Lindsey very badly — badly enough that he made a fool of himself in the hearings — and they’ve barely gotten started.
Looking like he had an extremely sleepless night, Graham wailed and lamented. He lamented that Childs was not the one up for confirmation. I am not sure how many times Graham said the name of Childs. I lost count. Graham said if only Childs had been the nominee, she’d have gotten over 60 votes.
This was so disrespectful — to Jackson AND Childs. I am sure Judge Childs did not want to be used this way. And I am sure it must have been uncomfortable for Jackson. What was she supposed to say?
Graham could not appear to stop. Childs, Childs, Childs. It was like he’d been rendered mute, unable to speak any other words except “Childs.” And it was a disgrace. Lindsey Graham is an irritating wasp, unable to stop buzzing about things he has no control over. He has no control over them because he is not the President.
He may wish he were. But he isn’t. Joe Biden is. Graham will likely use the passing over of Childs as his reason for not voting for Jackson. He is certainly laying the groundwork for that. Graham’s pout appeared molded to his face. It was a remarkable sight. It was an omnipresent scowl, a symbol of what an idiot Graham is and likely will always be.
