Lindsey Graham melts down as Donald Trump circles the drain

For a guy who just won reelection, Lindsey Graham doesn’t sound too happy. In fact he sounds more unwell than ever. He appeared on the Sean Hannity show on Fox News tonight, and it was a total debacle.

Hannity is having the kind of meltdown you’d expect from a guy who’s married himself so thoroughly to Trump that he doesn’t think he’ll have a place on cable news anymore once Trump is gone. But Lindsey Graham appeared on Hannity’s on-air pity party tonight and made things even worse by suggesting that Pennsylvania’s Republican legislature somehow magically give the state’s electoral votes to Donald Trump even after Joe Biden is named the winner of the state.

To be 100% clear, this absolutely will not happen. It’s not a real thing. It wouldn’t even be legal. Even far right Republican stalwart Rick Santorum – who’s from Pennsylvania – stated on CNN tonight that it’s not a real thing. In fact Santorum stated that he knows first hand that Pennsylvania’s Republican state legislature wouldn’t even attempt such a thing. It’s simply the delusional fantasy of someone who has lost.

Yet here we have Lindsey Graham going on TV and championing this kind of imaginary magical overthrow of the election results. It obviously won’t magically overthrow the results. But this kind of rhetoric is what motivates Donald Trump’s most unstable fans to turn violent.

Here’s a question. For decades we watched Lindsey Graham try to be a loyal clone of John McCain. Then over the past couple years we’ve watched Lindsey Graham try to be a loyal clone of Donald Trump. Once Trump is gone, whose personality will Graham adopt next?
