Lindsey Graham has gone even further off the deep end than we thought possible

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

Liz Cheney is correct: The Republican party cannot grow with Trump. Poor Lindsey Graham believes the opposite. Although Trump helped the Republican party lose the presidency, Senate, and Congress, some of these idiots still think he parted the Red Sea. Graham appeared on Faux News with talking head Sean Hannity, and with a straight face said that the party cannot move forward without Trump. Cheney, meanwhile, is sticking with the truth. She told Republicans to “choose truth and fidelity to the Constitution.” Please. The Republicans in office right now have no allegiance to the Constitution, and they certainly know nothing about truth and fidelity. Their only fidelity is the man who helped them lose power in 2020.

Elise Stefanik, who is being proposed as a replacement to Cheney, doubled down on the big lie that the 2020 election was “stolen” through voter fraud, though no fraud has been found. These people obviously believe that if you tell the same lie long enough, others will believe it too. The problem is that most Americans know the truth and that is that Trump lost the election. Instead of facing that truth and rebuilding their party, they would rather go on tour or take to the airways to promote the lie.

The funniest thing about Graham is how he has made such a turnaround. When Trump first came on the scene as a candidate, Graham lambasted him mercilessly. He called Trump a “jackass,” “kook,” “crazy,” and “unfit for office,” according to Huffington Post. Now, he acts like he cannot live without him. While we will never know what caused Graham’s turnaround, we do know one thing: Republicans have nothing else. They are grasping at straws as the midterms approach. Washington Post reported that, rather than embracing President Biden’s plans to bring relief to Americans, Republicans plan to run on issues they believe Democrats support, such as packing the Supreme Court, defunding police, providing legal status to undocumented immigrants, and granting statehood to D.C., the New York Times reported. This all sounds eerily similar to their 2020 platform. How did that work out for them?

The Times further reported that Republicans plan to pretend President Biden did not pass his COVID relief bill into law by not mentioning it at all. That should work well for them. Not. That bill received overwhelming support from the American people, and while Republicans might forget about it, Americans will not. They also will not forget that not one Republican supported that relief and that they have officially announced they will not support President Biden’s infrastructure and jobs plans. We shall see how that works for them when Democrats are tooting their own horns about these plans.

Trying to combat the accomplishments Democrats have made with talking points is ludicrous and political suicide. Everyone is not stupid, and many will not fall for Republican tricks when they are receiving aid from Democrats. Job numbers continue to climb, and Democrats are poised to pass President Biden’s latest legislation without Republican support—again. Republicans better wake up before it is too late, though we hope they do not.
