Lindsey Graham has bonkers meltdown
“Hell!” This is what Republicans and, in particular, Senator Lindsey Graham are vowing to put Democrats through as punishment for helping the American people. Just when you thought it was safe to go in the Senate waters, the Republican sharks appear.
This all has to do with the climate and economic legislation that Democrats are working through the weekend to secure. The GOP has been in a tizzy since it was announced Senators Schumer and Manchin had reached an agreement.
And according to Lindsey Graham, the GOP is planning to put Democrats through the shredder before the legislation is passed. And Republicans are vowing to make it as difficult as possible for Democrats to pass the bill.
Graham actually came out and said it. Graham spoke about the process known as “vote-a-rama. This is where a voting marathon on amendments is offered. “So, what will vote-a-rama be like?” Graham said. “It’d be like hell.”
Thank you, Senator Graham, for demonstrating your love of country. (sarcasm.) Only it won’t work. Democrats have the votes. They have the votes of their entire caucus, and there is nothing at all the GOP can do to stop them from passing this extraordinary legislation.
That doesn’t mean they won’t try, though. It’s a bitter pill to swallow for the GOP, don’t you think? They make assumptions. They thought it would be easy for them to win come November. They didn’t count on us. They underestimated the strength of the opposition — always an error and a foolish thing to do in war. If Graham wants his vote-a-rama “hell,” so be it. All it will do is show the GOP for who they are — a bunch of whiny extremists who could not care less for the American people.
