Lindsey Graham crashes and burns

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

Republican Senator Lindsey Graham doesn’t seem to know what to do with himself now that he’s hitched his wagon to Donald Trump, who’s leading him off a cliff. Graham is now trying to play both sides as Trump’s poll numbers continue to drop, putting Graham’s Senate seat at risk. Now Graham has reached a whole new low, even for him.

This morning Donald Trump went on lengthy and utterly ridiculous defense of his habit of playing golf instead of doing his job. It was the kind of idiotic argument that no self respecting person could even try to defend. So naturally, Lindsey Graham tried to defend it.

Lindsey tweeted: “President Trump claims he plays golf fast. Not only is that true, it is a tremendous understatement. I can also attest to the fact that a lot of business is done on the course. Golf is a great way for the President to get away from the confines of the White House and the pressures of the office. Keep playing Mr. President.”

Are you kidding? Are you kidding? This is one of the dumbest things that anyone has ever tweeted – and given the nature of the platform, that’s saying something. Lindsey Graham should just resign from the Senate now, while he can still slink away quietly. Otherwise this seems increasingly unlikely to end well for him. If Graham is being blackmailed into behaving this insanely, it’ll come out eventually. And if Graham has simply lost his mind this severely, then he’s a danger to himself and others and should be in a hospital.
