Letitia James just delivered some bad news for Donald Trump

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

According to multiple major news outlets, New York Attorney General Letitia James is running for Governor in 2022. This is notable because she’ll be running in a Democratic primary race against sitting New York Governor Kathy Hochul, if Hochul chooses to run. But this is also big news for another New York figure, namely Donald Trump.

Tish James has spent the past few years spearheading a civil investigation into Donald Trump and the Trump Organization, which morphed into a criminal investigation, and ended up combining forces with the Manhattan District Attorney’s criminal investigation. Criminal indictments have been brought against the Trump Organization and Allen Weisselberg, and by all accounts the grand jury is still hearing testimony, which means more indictments are coming โ€“ and everyone who outranks Weisselberg is named “Trump.”

James has rather loudly staked herself to the position that she would hold Donald Trump accountable for his crimes. It’s difficult to imagine she would decide to run for Governor unless and until she’s confident that the consequences against Trump will be in plain view for all to see by the time she has to start campaigning.

In other words, Tish James must believe that the New York criminal case against Donald Trump is a winner, and that Trump is going to face major consequences โ€“ indictment, asset seizures, the arrest of his kids, whatever it may be โ€“ quickly enough to line up with her campaign for Governor. Now Trump has yet another reason not to sleep at night.
