Lawrence O’Donnell just destroyed Donald Trump’s former attorney to his face

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

Over the past week various MSNBC hosts have had former Donald Trump attorney Tim Parlatore on the air (because he’s a controversial enough figure that he’s good for ratings), and they’ve each proceeded to politely let Parlatore spew a bunch of BS the entire time (for fear that pushing back against him too hard might make him not want to keep coming on MSNBC). It’s frankly been painful to watch.

But on Wednesday night Lawrence O’Donnell had Parlatore on the air, and proceeded to call him out and pummel him the entire time. Lawrence clearly didn’t care if it resulted in Parlatore being unwilling to come back onto MSNBC in the future.

I’m still not in favor of putting known bullshitters on the air at all, as all it does is lower the political discourse. But if you’re going to do it, O’Donnell showed how it’s done. You call them out on their BS at every single turn, and if they don’t like it, they shouldn’t be spewing BS to begin with.

Lawrence O’Donnell is also the only MSNBC host who has consistently been acknowledging for awhile that Donald Trump’s future consists solely of legal troubles and not political aspirations, even as far too many of his colleagues were still trying to milk the scary “Trump 2024” narrative for ratings. It’s as if O’Donnell has stopped caring what his bosses might want. He’s doing his job the way he sees fit, and he doesn’t seem to care if he gets fired for it.
