How does a right wing lunatic extremist like Lauren Boebert get elected to the U.S. House of Representatives to begin with? She starts by running in a very red district where only a Republican can win and right wing extremism is rewarded, and if she doesn’t happen to face any other more viable Republican candidate, she gets elected to the House.

Getting rid of someone like Boebert is difficult. Since no Democrat can get elected in her district, you have to hope that some more reasonable Republican unseats her in a primary challenge – and even then that’s difficult, because she’s got the incumbency advantage. But then there’s the magic of redistricting.

Colorado has released its proposed new redistricting map, and interestingly enough, Lauren Boebert’s district basically no longer exists. Instead she’ll end up having to run for reelection in a newly drawn and Democratic-leaning district against highly popular House Democrat Joe Neguse:

Because Lauren Boebert’s extremist loons are certainly going to put up a fight in 2022, we’ll have to put in the work required to make sure Joe Neguse actually defeats her. But he’s going to have the clear advantage over her. If the proposed new redistricting map remains intact, we’ll have a very strong chance to actually get rid of Boebert.
