Lauren Boebert hits rock bottom
Republicans are just plain stupid. They’re all up in arms over Hunter Biden’s plea deal. Plea deals are always more lenient than a jury verdict. The giver must convince the taker to want the deal. If he is offered the same thing he would have gotten in a jury trial, why take the deal? The deal is not “overly lenient;” it is a deal. Kevin McCarthy was quoted by the Hill as saying: “It continues to show the two-tier system in America.” Hey, Trump is free to move for a deal. He’ll likely fare better than he will with a federal jury, but we can’t let pesky facts get in the way when we’re talking about Republicans. They obviously don’t understand how the law works. It is more likely than not that Trump has also cheated on his taxes over the years; he just hasn’t been caught. Now, he’s caught for something else, and all hell is breaking loose. Cheating on taxes pales in comparison to being charged under the Espionage Act.
One unnamed Republican aide tried to explain how this works: “Of course, Hunter got off easy, but he cooperated, unlike Trump.” Again, most Republicans don’t understand how the law works, yet they get to sit in Congress and fashion laws that impact the rest of us. That doesn’t sound like a good thing. Take, for instance, Lauren Boebert, who wants to impeach President Biden for reasons no one understands but her. Even her fellow Republicans disagree with what she has done.
Boebert apparently used some law that forced the House to vote on her ridiculous articles of impeachment. According to the Hill, several Republicans called Boebert’s move “frivolous,” but Boebert is frivolous, so there’s that. Republicans have spent (or wasted, as the case may be) most of their time in office, trying to find something wrong with someone. If it isn’t Joe Biden, it’s his son Hunter. If not them, it’s the FBI and the DOJ. Just pick an agency or Democrat, and Republicans will find something wrong with them. Heaven forbid they do something for the people who put them in office. Interestingly, McCarthy was the first to sound off against Boebert’s move. According to the Hill, he has been “rallying his troops” to oppose the resolution as soon as it hits the floor. He went on to say: “This is one of the most serious things you can do as a member of Congress. I think you’ve got to go through the process. You’ve got to have the investigation.” Yeah, and you need to find something wrong-like Trump blackmailing Ukraine and inciting violence on January 6. Those were both impeachable offenses. We can’t even tell from Boebert’s nonsense what President Biden has supposedly done wrong.
Republicans need to get down to the business for which they were elected to office. Get over Hunter Biden, Joe Biden, and anyone else they don’t like. No one sent them to Washington to try to get revenge on people with whom they don’t agree. Do your jobs or get the hell out.
