Lauren Boebert goes off the deep end about staged boating accidents while standing under a beer sign

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

When House Republican Lauren Boebert barely won reelection by about 500 votes in 2022, you’d think she’d have taken the hint that her district is tired of her deranged and extremist antics. But apparently not.

While curiously standing under a Budweiser sign, Lauren Boebert gave a speech in which she tried to demonize the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF). Not only that, she took things further by appearing to urge owners of illegal firearms to stage boating accidents or something, so they can claim the guns were lost in the boat:

.
Boebert knows she can say this kind of thing and get away with it in a legal sense, because she can always claim she was merely being sarcastic, meaning no jury would convict her for incitement. But Boebert is missing the larger point, which is that this kind of unhinged whack job rhetoric only hurts her with reasonable voters in her district.

Even though Lauren Boebert’s district does lean a bit Republican in terms of demographics, Democrat Adam Frisch almost defeated her in 2022, and now he’s running against her again in 2024. The more Boebert talks like this, the more of an opening it creates for Frisch. You can find out more about his 2024 campaign here.
