Laura Ingraham hits rock bottom
I know how scary what’s happening between Russia and Ukraine is. Obviously, none of us wanted this. But there is virtually nobody — nobody on this planet — I trust more than President Biden to lead our response. And, of course, we stand with Ukraine, and our hearts go out to them. But some people — with their actions and their words — are showing they couldn’t care less.
Fox Non-News is, of course, no more than hate-TV. And the shrill-voiced Pundits who work for them are something else again. Laura Ingraham is getting some blow-back for her words which were not only cruel but cold as the coldest arctic glacier. I mean it.
Ukrainian President Zelenskyy pleaded in a last-ditch effort to reason with Russia for peace. He implored Russia not to invade. His words were powerful and moving. It was difficult not to brush away tears.
At least for many, that is true. Ingraham didn’t see it that way. Labeling him “pathetic,” Ingraham declared his moving statement made him look “defeated.” She appeared to be mocking him.
Now you may ask — how could ANY American mock this dignified and courageous man. My answer? A sociopath — a cold and icy creature who doesn’t have one iota of humanity inside her.
There seems to be a perception among many on the right that showing human vulnerability is weakness. In that regard, these same people see someone like Donald Trump as strong because he screams, threatens, and taunts.
What these people can’t recognize is courage — and love of country. They likely can’t recognize it because they lack these traits in themselves. One can’t identify in others character traits that one has never had themselves.
And this is why Ingraham and her ilk keep making the same mistake again and again. In reality, it is they who are weak. It’s they who lack the ability to exhibit human decency and the gift of empathy.
These are things that perhaps they were born without. So the next time someone like Ingraham spreads her filth — stop and think about it. Think about what a cold and empty shell she is. And think about how she will never know the beauty and vibrancy of respect nor courage.
