Robert Mueller and his team leak what they really think about Donald Trump hiring Rudy Giuliani

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

This week Rudy Giuliani revealed that he’s signed on to join the legal defense team of his criminal co-conspirator Donald Trump. It was a sign of desperation and sheer absurdity on the part of both Trump, who famously hasn’t been able to find a competent attorney to take his case, and Giuliani, who is clearly panicking in fear that he might be next to get busted in the Trump scandal. Now Robert Mueller’s team is weighing in, and the response is pretty much “LOL.” No, really.

Mueller’s team has responded to Trump’s hiring of Giuliani with a mixture of skepticism and amusement, according to a new report. Yes, the report is from Fox Business, which means it has to be taken with a healthy heaping of grains of salt. That said, when Fox misrepresents stories, it’s in Trump’s favor, and here it’s reporting a very anti-Trump story, so there’s reason to believe this one is legitimate. What does it mean?

Rudy Giuliani declared this week that he’s joining Donald Trump’s legal team because he thinks he can magically “negotiate an end” to Robert Mueller’s investigation within a week or two. We all had a good laugh about this at the time, even as we tried to figure out what Giuliani was really up to. Now we know that the move is every bit as desperate and stupid as we suspected.

Nothing ever leaks from Robert Mueller’s team to the media unless it’s on purpose and for a reason. This leak is intended to send a message to Rudy Giuliani. That message is most likely something along the lines of “Nice try, Rudy, but you’re still getting indicted soon.” Stay tuned, because while Trump and Giuliani aren’t going to get anywhere with this stunt, they’re clearly doing it for a reason, so we’ll see more on this front.
