Donald Trump’s latest rabid meltdown goes completely off the rails
If these are Donald Trump’s enemies, we’d hate to see his friends. Trump didn’t play golf while he was in Florida on Sunday because his handlers told him it would look bad in the wake of the nearby Stoneman Douglas High School mass shooting. Unfortunately Trump’s handlers didn’t give him an alternate activity (basket weaving? finger painting?), so instead he sat and stewed all day, while melting down like a rabid hyena on crystal meth.
During the course of Sunday, Donald Trump attacked the following people for various ridiculous and dishonest reasons not even worth trying to explain: President Obama. Hillary Clinton. CNN. The FBI. Congressman Adam Schiff. He appeared to be newly attacking the fictional four hundred pound hacker that he made up back in 2016, but the whole thing was too incoherent to sort out. He made a point of praising NASCAR for some reason, before moving on to viciously attack Oprah Winfrey.
See, we get it. Trump praised NASCAR, the whitest sport on earth, while attacking Oprah, yet another black public figure. He always finds a way to work racism into his meltdowns. But something was just off today, even by his standards. Yes, we suspect he may have been high on drugs again, but that’s not all of it. And yeah, it’s pretty obvious that he thinks yet another Trump-Russia bombshell is coming), but that still doesn’t explain the sheer magnitude of frantic and sustained desperation that Trump revealed during the course of his meltdown today.
So what gives? Donald Trump is so delusional, it’s entirely possible he’s convinced himself that he didn’t conspire with the Russians to rig the election in his favor. Has Robert Mueller’s indictment of thirteen Russian election riggers finally broken the spell? Is Trump having a meltdown because he can no longer delude himself about the fact that he lost the election, and that he sucks at being an illegitimate president? Has he finally figured out that he and most of his family are going to spend the rest of their lives in prison? Stay tuned, because Trump’s failing psyche is going to get worse, not better, as the week goes on.
