Donald Trump launches into deranged late night meltdown
Donald Trump has been having a rough week. He’s been blindsided by the revelation that Omarosa secretly recorded him while inside the White House, and he’s been fending off ever-louder accusations that he used the N-word while he was on the set of the Apprentice. So today he got desperate for a distraction and revoked the security clearance of John Brennan, using a document dated three weeks ago, revealing that he’d been sitting on this for a rainy day. The response to the move was almost universally negative, so Trump decided to have a meltdown instead.
For a guy who likes to start the day at 6am eastern time, he shouldn’t still be ranting long after the sun has gone down, and he usually doesn’t. But today was different. Tonight he finally addressed the John Brennan situation, but apparently unable to come up with any words of his own, he instead merely quoted his longtime lackey, sputtering buffoon Dan Bongino: “John Brennan is a stain on the Country, we deserve better than this.” Trump then went on to illegally plug Bongino’s new book. But then came the really screwy stuff.
As the night went on, Donald Trump decided it was randomly time to attack Hillary Clinton and blame all of his own criminal scandals on her. But again, in lieu of trying to form any words of his own, Trump once again merely quoted one of his lackeys, this time Joe DiGenova: “Hillary Clinton clearly got a pass by the FBI. We have the unfortunate situation where they then decided they were going to frame Donald Trump.” It’s worth pointing out that earlier this summer Trump announced he was hiring De Genova as his new attorney, only to announce a week later that it wasn’t happening.
Donald Trump posts crazed rants nearly every morning as a matter of course. But we’ve come to see that he generally only posts late night meltdowns when he’s either frazzled by how poorly his scandals have gone for him that day, or when he’s freaked out because he’s learned that even more scandals are about to land the next day. Buckle up, because Trump seems to think a whole new round of ugliness is headed his way.
