Donald Trump has psychotic late night meltdown about his impeachment

Dear Palmer Report readers,

We all understand what a dark era we're heading into. Journalists will be prosecuted. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. Advertising networks can't be counted on. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight, because someone has to.

In that regard we're looking to start funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens or how dark things get. We've launched a reader supported fund, and we've already raised $3360 and counting. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can contribute here. Thank you in advance.
Sincerely,
Bill Palmer

Donald Trump is now being shellacked on so many sides, he’s not longer even able to fire back accordingly. It took him a full day to meekly fire back at Mitt Romney, for instance, and he still hasn’t gotten around to the other congressional Republicans who are coming at him, or for that matter General Mattis or Admiral McRaven. The specter of impeachment is becoming all too real to him, and so he’s going even further off the deep end tonight than usual.

What’s particularly surreal about Donald Trump’s impeachment meltdown tonight is that he appears to be trying to convince himself that none of it is even happening. For instance, he posted this delusional tweet about the impeachment testimony of Kurt Volker and Gordon Sondland, which by all accounts was devastating for Trump: “Corrupt Congressman Adam Schiff is angry that Ambassadors that he thought would be good for his fraudulent Witch Hunt, are turning out to be good for me – some really good!”

Trump is also claiming that “Because the House has already voted against the Impeachment Proceeding, the current inquiry is totally invalid,” Uh, nope. Try again. “Schiff’s inquiry defies Democracy.” Not helping. If only Trump had bothered to read the Constitution. “Pelosi and Impeachment.” Eh, we’re not even going to bore you with that one.

Imagine standing on the battlefield – in the fight of your life – and instead of doing anything to try to win, you stand there helplessly taking fire because you’re too busy trying to convince yourself of an imaginary scenario in which you’re somehow magically winning. Trump isn’t up for this fight, which is why he’s now losing so rapidly.
