Donald Trump throws pathetic last-minute tantrum before Nancy Pelosi and the Democrats take over
The countdown clock is now just a few hours from striking zero. We’re not talking about the countdown to New Year’s Day, which already took place earlier in the week, though we doubt Donald Trump even knows what year it is anymore. No, we’re talking about the countdown until Nancy Pelosi and the Democrats take control of the House, and begin exposing and dismantling him. Trump seems keenly aware of that countdown clock, and he’s throwing a rather pathetic last-minute tantrum in the process.
Here’s what Donald Trump tweeted just before midnight on Wednesday: “Sadly, there can be no REAL Border Security without the Wall!” Wait, that’s it? That’s all he’s got? When his party is about to cede control of the House in a manner which will send subpoenas flying in his criminal scandals, and will result in daily televised hearings into his endless criminal scandals?
Are we supposed to be impressed that Donald Trump typed “REAL” in all caps before packing it in? It’s not that this “president” ever had any business tweeting such bombastic smack talk to begin with. But it’s notable that even his trademark hollow bombast is gone, and he sounds more like a guy who’s lamenting that he’s got nowhere to go but down.
So this is how it ends. Donald Trump is in his final few hours of unchecked power before everything goes straight off a cliff for him, and he’s struggling to come up with more than eleven meek and recycled words to throw at the wall. This kind of low energy performance isn’t even enough to motivate his rabid base to start doing whatever deranged things they do whenever he fires them up.
