To give you an idea of how quickly things are moving when it comes to Donald Trump’s downfall and how confusing it’s all gotten, John Bolton apparently is and is not testifying on Thursday. Take your pick on how you want to parse that one. Meanwhile, Lev Parnas has reportedly decided to sell out Donald Trump to the House impeachment inquiry because he got his feelings hurt.

So that’s where we’re at now. Thirteen witnesses have already testified to the House impeachment inquiry. All thirteen have confirmed that Donald Trump did what he’s accused of having done. More witnesses will have piled on by the time the week is over. Public impeachment hearings will begin soon enough.

In the meantime the U.S. Court of Appeals just sided with the New York grand jury that’s in the process of criminally indicting Donald Trump on state charges, which by the way means that – we’ll repeat this for emphasis: a New York grand jury is in the process of criminally indicting Donald Trump on state charges. We have no way of knowing whether state prosecutors plan to drop that indictment on Trump’s head before or after election day. But at the least, it confirms what we’ve known all along. When Trump does leave the White House, it’ll be in handcuffs.

In the meantime, confusion reigns supreme. Here’s the one thing you need to know: for all the confusing and chaotic developments that keep happening, all of them are bad for Donald Trump. Impeachment poll numbers keep getting worse for him. His 2020 poll numbers are as awful as ever. And his strategy for saving himself appears to consist of nothing but self delusion. Welcome to the land of confusion.
