King Clarence the worst
Nobody is above the law — except for The Supreme Court, many of whom seem to feel they can do anything they want whenever they want to do so. So we are learning that once again, King Clarence ( said with sarcasm) has violated laws by accepting luxury trips from a Republican meg-donor. Is anyone shocked?
Thomas would take trips on Harlan Crow’s yacht. Crow is rich; he’s a Republican. And Thomas sure seems to enjoy his yacht. That figures. Thomas, who is required to disclose any gifts he receives, failed to disclose these fun little yacht excursions.
He received food. Lodging. Entertainment. Fun. All with his Republican buddy. The good news is Senator Dick Durbin has said Democrats will act. Durbin is head of the Judiciary committee and has proven invaluable in all the Supreme Court grift.
Here is what Durbin said: “The highest court in the land shouldn’t have the lowest ethical standard.”
As of the time of this writing, there has been no comment from Chief Justice Roberts, who is probably hoping fervently that we forget all about this.
Only we will not. The democrats want The Supreme Court to take responsibility, and many of these Democrats have said so. There are now calling for tighter ethics rules, and I have no doubt there will be an investigation. Were it up to me, I’d see Thomas impeached. His behavior indeed calls for it. That is why we must expand the Senate where we have the votes to do so.
