Kevin McCarthy’s revenge on House Republicans
The other day, Bill Palmer wrote an article about the whispers that Kevin McCarthy may not be long for Congress. I agree he probably will not be. The rumors are sort of turning into a buzz. But I have my own theory as to at least PART of why Kevin might leave.
First of all, reportedly, Kevin is dealing with various “stages of grief” in regard to losing the Speaker role. And yes, all over, it’s being said that Kevin is seriously considering leaving.
It must be hard, I imagine, after being king cheese, to have to return to the world of the little people. Now — Of course, Kevin was NOT the king, the leader. The big kahuna. But he THOUGHT he was. I think Kevin still hasn’t gotten it yet.
But one thing we know. Kevin’s looking for revenge. Desperately seeking revenge. Just think of how the man has acted since his take-down. He’s trying to get Gaetz out. He reportedly swiped someone in the halls WITH a reporter right there. Yes, Kevin would undoubtedly LOVE himself a fresh and yummy slice of revenge.
And by leaving Congress, he’d get it. Think about how fragile the House’s majority is. It went down one with Santos gone. If Gaetz is expelled — and it’s a big if — down would go another one. And if KEVIN left? The GOP’s lead would be barely there.
WHAT better revenge for the man who was forced out of his job than to bolt – leaving the Republican House majority hanging on by a thread? Revenge is a bitter tea indeed. It rarely makes one feel better; it carries with it the POTENTIAL to make the person feel worse.
But occasionally, someone comes along who doesn’t see any of that. Kevin is STEAMING inside; he’s furious. I imagine that if he high-tailed it out of there, many GOP House members would be quite upset because their majority would shrink even more.
Could THAT be what Kevin, in the spirit of vengeful has-beens everywhere, is planning? It would not surprise me one iota. Stay tuned.
