Kevin McCarthy got played

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

From the beginning, it was very obvious that Kevin McCarthy was being played. He was being played by his own caucus. See, Kevin was an easy mark. Word had it that he’d do just about ANYTHING for that Speakership, so the pack of conning carnival barkers came out in full force.

Yes, McCarthy was played. And chances are, the man was so happy to see the culmination of his dream that he didn’t even notice it was more like a nightmare. And now McCarthy has to make some decisions. The problem is — there is no good solution for him.

Kevin McCarthy has yet to endorse Donald trump for president, and people are noticing. The rats are out in full force, pointedly reminding him that it’s time. Sources say McCarthy has no good options here.

Let’s say he goes for an endorsement. Sources say that endorsement might trigger “a Civil war” inside his caucus. “The reality is if we get Trump, there’s probably a good possibility that we don’t keep the House,” one Republican said. “McCarthy knows that,” he continued.

For sure, Kevin knows that because Trump is a loser and can’t win anything. But what of the other choice? The choice to just say no, to walk away. He can’t. That’s where the art of the con comes in. Kevin promised away his soul, and the reality is a good part of why he got his dream job is because of Trump.

So if Kevin refuses to endorse, one can be assured Trump will erupt in rage, and Kevin might just lose his dream job anyway. These are the kinds of decisions one must make when they sell their soul. Kevin has been played.

He’s fallen victim to the hustle and bustle of the scam, perpetuated by experienced flimflammers who know that Kevin’s person is theirs to do with what they may. I don’t see peace coming to Kevin easily, no matter what decision he chooses to make.
