Donald Trump’s stooge Kayleigh McEnany goes dishonestly berserk about Paw Patrol cartoon

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

The Trump regime has always been eager to tell any lie it can think of in order to make whatever ridiculous argument it’s trying to push on any given day. But for this to be effective, the lie has to be believable, or obscure, or something that can be spun.

That brings us to today’s press briefing, where Donald Trump’s White House Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany made a point of complaining about how Paw Patrol, a cartoon about police officers, was canceled a few weeks ago in the wake of pushback against the police. Here’s the thing: Paw Patrol wasn’t canceled. It’s still on the air. It aired as recently as yesterday.

It’s not clear if McEnany is lying on purpose, or if she was merely being sloppy. Last month there was an online meme going around about how Paw Patrol had supposedly been canceled due to backlash against the police; perhaps she came across the meme and didn’t do her homework.

In any case, Donald Trump and his people are every bit as dishonest as they are evil as they are inept as they are stupid. That’s no way to go through life. And it’s no way to run the country. There’s a pandemic going on, for crying out loud. Now if you’ll excuse us, we have to go save a fictional cartoon from imaginary cancelation.
