Katie Porter just decimated Donald Trump’s Postmaster General Louis DeJoy
Over the weekend, Donald Trump’s Postmaster General Louis DeJoy caved and agreed to testify to the House Oversight Committee in mid-September. The House then seized on this by demanding that DeJoy testify next week. DeJoy then further caved by agreeing to this demand, meaning he’s now playing defense instead of offense.
One of the very sharpest questioners on the House Oversight Committee is Congresswoman Katie Porter. Despite still being in her first term, she’s one of the smartest and savviest Democrats in the House. She’s routinely made mincemeat out of Trump’s stooges when they’ve shown up to testify before her committee.
When the news broke that Louis DeJoy will be testifying in front of her committee in just seven days, Katie Porter tweeted this in response: “I hope the Postmaster General comes prepared. I know I will.” Her tweet got roughly fifty thousand likes in the first hour she posted it, in a reminder of just how much everyone is looking forward to seeing her take DeJoy down.
