Kari Lake’s dinner with the devil
Do you want proof that the GOP cannot change and has not changed? Look no further than Kari Lake. I knows, I know. You must be sick of hearing about her. But this is an important story because it shows just HOW awful the GOP has become.
The Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) is hosting its Ronald Reagan Dinner. It is to be held next month and is an important event for the loopy group. And you’ll never guess who’s coming to dinner. Yep. Kari Lake is not only coming to dinner. She is to be the group’s FEATURED SPEAKER.
Hello crazy. “A rare leader” and “someone who captured the hearts of conservatives” is how she’s being billed. OK — this one actually managed to stun me, and I write about politics. But it’s bizarre , even by republican standards.
“A breath of fresh air.” This is how Megan Powers, CPAC’S spokesperson, describes her. I’d say more like a breath of fresh SCARE. Kari Lake is a very scary lady. She also has a warped outlook on life and is a political has-been before she’s even been elected to anything. What could the GOP be thinking with this one?
Megan Powers continued glowingly gushing over Lake. “She has an uncanny ability to tell it like it is.” Really? “We can’t wait to have her liven up our CPAC stage.” You might want to have a few straight jackets on hand. Just kidding. (sort of..)
This is one event I think many will not be attending. Seriously. This woman is an embarrassment to the GOP, and between her, Donald trump, and George Santos (with a little Greene and Boebert thrown it), it has become apparent that the grand old party has become the loony old party. Good luck with that.
