Kari Lake lays an egg in failing Senate campaign

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

On Wednesday night, with the extensive coverage of Hurricane Milton, one might have overlooked the first debate between Rep. Ruben Gallego and perennial election loser Kari Lake, in a race that may determine control of the Senate. Although the polling shows a comfortable lead for Gallego, the last few congressional races in Arizona have been notoriously close – with the Democratic candidate winning by just a few points.

The other problem is that Gallego’s Republican opponent Kari Lake is notorious already for her habit of denying election losses – something she shares in common with Donald Trump, who she’s desperately spent the last two years sucking up to with very little to show for it.

This opened the perfect opportunity for Gallego to attack her relentlessly in the debate. You might have thought that she’d be able to answer definitively by now that she lost the gubernatorial race in 2022, but you would be wrong. She also didn’t have much to say on whether or not she’d support a national abortion ban or details on border security – leading Gallego to close with the perfect line of attack: “She’s been to Mar-A-Lago more times than she’s been to visit the border,” which is to say she has no particular plan for border security and she runs to the cameras just as often as the former guy.

Kari lake is in no position to serve the people of Arizona or in the US Senate, which is why we need to get behind Ruben Gallego and help him win the Senate seat on Nov 5.
