Kamala Harris just hit it out of the park
When Joe Biden gave a speech introducing Kamala Harris as his running mate today, it was one of the more engaging, heartfelt, and effective speeches he’s given during his campaign. That’s what makes it so remarkable that Kamala then quickly managed to deliver an even more memorable speech.
Kamala Harris used her speech today to lay out her vision for America, and to remind everyone of all the ways in which Donald Trump has failed us and betrayed us. Kamala spoke of her own experiences. She spoke of her connection to Beau Biden. And most importantly she spoke directly to the American people, framing the partnership between the Biden-Harris administration and the American people that can get us out of the hole we’re currently in.
Joe Biden tweeted this: “We’ve all watched Kamala Harris in the Senate go toe-to-toe with Trump officials trying to hide the truth, asking the tough questions that need to be asked — and not stopping until she gets an answer. She’s ready to do this job … This morning, little girls woke up across this nation — especially Black and Brown girls who so often may feel overlooked and undervalued in our society — potentially seeing themselves in a new way: As the stuff of Presidents and Vice Presidents.”
