Kamala Harris is just going for it
The Kamala Harris campaign has raised a record setting amount of money, much of it in small dollar amounts from people like you. If you’re wondering where it’s going, just take a look at the TV ads she keeps running during NFL football games. It’s a great way to reach moderate suburban voters during one of the few events that people still watch live and sit through the commercial breaks. But it’s also extraordinarily expensive. It’s money well spent.
Kamala Harris, her campaign, and her surrogates are also making a huge coordinated push this week to steer supporters like you toward signing up on go.kamalaharris.com. It’s pretty straightforward. If TV ads are one big way to sway an election, the other is to phone bank and knock on doors. It’s inefficient for Kamala to have to fundraise money so she can use it to pay temp workers to do phone banking and door knocking, when she can get people like you to do it for free.
Put another way: would you rather donate $100 to the Kamala Harris campaign so it can pay someone to do a phone banking shift, or would you rather do a phone banking shift yourself? Not all of you have a spare $100. But nearly all of you have at least one spare day off between now and the election.
That’s why Kamala Harris is now pushing go.kamalaharris.com so hard. Let’s all sign up and be free labor for a candidate we so throughly believe in, so that she can spend her stockpile of campaign funds on the kinds of things that we can’t do for her. Kamala is just going for it at this point, and so should we.
