Kamala Harris is doing double duty tonight – and it’s a sight to see
Last night Kamala Harris gave a brief surprise speech on stage at the Democratic National Convention in Chicago, breaking with the tradition of presidential nominees not speaking until their acceptance speech. Now Kamala is doing much more tonight.
Kamala Harris and Tim Walz are holding a rally this evening in Milwaukee, at the same time the Democratic National Convention is taking place in Chicago. This move allows Harris to effectively campaign in two places at once, given how many big names are campaigning for her by proxy at the convention. And it’s possible that Harris will make it back to the convention tonight in time for the biggest speeches.
It’s also notable that Kamala Harris is holding her rally tonight in the same arena that hosted the Republican National Convention, and she’s packed it to capacity. That’s right, Harris essentially has two sold out arenas tonight.
So why is Kamala Harris doing this? Because she can. She’s already shown that she has limitless energy, and she’s been working with a compressed campaign calendar after entering the race late. So why not just go for it?
