Kamala Harris holds her first 2020 presidential campaign rally, and it’s a doozy

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. Even as the long and winding path toward Donald Trump’s downfall and ouster continues, the path toward the 2020 presidential election is firmly in swing. Senator Kamala Harris, one of the most prominent and popular candidates to officially enter the 2020 democratic primary, held her first official campaign rally today in her hometown of Oakland. She came out swinging.

Kamala Harris, as expected, took aim at Donald Trump’s most ludicrous policies: “On the subject of transnational gangs, let’s be perfectly clear: The president’s medieval vanity project is not going to stop them.” But she also spoke of returning America to post-Trump glory: “We can restore America’s moral leadership on this planet.”

Notably, Kamala Harris continues to make prominent reference of the fact that her mom is an immigrant. This flies directly in the face of the Trump regime’s racist, xenophobic, and cartoonishly over the top anti-immigrant positions. If the Republican Party is now based on little more than scaring insecure white people into being paranoid about immigrants, Harris isn’t trying to hide the fact that she’s the daughter of one.

The responses on social media were telling. Mainstream Americans had plenty of good things to say about her on Twitter, prompting the #KamalaHarris2020 hashtag to begin trending. Meanwhile, Trump supporters tweeted racist and sexist memes about her, while spreading lies about her heritage. Some things just don’t change.
