Kamala Harris’ big week

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

With no upcoming debates and little recent movement in the polls, the 2024 election cycle has reached a point of stagnation – at least for the media. Even as the major political media outlets are spending the week pulling isolated numbers out of context and inventing nonsense to try to come up with new headlines and move the ratings needle, Kamala Harris is spending the week doing something else entirely.

Over the weekend Kamala Harris appeared on one of the most popular podcasts in the country. Now she’s appearing on the Howard Stern show. The major political media outlets are questioning this strategy. Well of course they are. It doesn’t involve them. Kamala is spending the week bypassing the political media and taking her message directly to mainstream Americans.

The podcast is a great way to reach younger voters who aren’t inclined to tune into political news outlets. The Stern show is a great way to reach older voters who aren’t inclined to tune into political news outlets. What’s more, these kinds of appearances allow Kamala to simply be herself. If she were to appear on CNN or ABC News this week, she’d have to face the same handful of stupid, stilted questions that the political media always throws at her: What does she think of this Trump lie? What does she think of that Trump lie? What’s the point?

So this is a big week for Kamala Harris. She’s out there scrapping for more votes in a smart way. It should be a big week for us too. There are four weeks left in this election. If you’ve been waiting for the right time to dip your toe into the waters of phone banking or door knocking, this is the time. Let’s dive in and get her over the finish line. Donate now
