Just making things up at this point

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

Donald Trump talks a good game, but when he is questioned pointedly about his potential legislation and how he plans to implement it, we get a word salad. His response to the Economic Club of New York is a great example of that. The panelist asked Trump: “If you win in November, can you commit to prioritizing legislation to make childcare affordable and if so, what specific piece of legislation will you advance?” This question is simple, straightforward, and clear. His answer? Not so much. Ultimately, he—who still doesn’t understand tariffs—claimed that tariffs will save the day. When Donald Trump doesn’t have an answer, he just makes things up. He apparently doesn’t see his inability to relate to ordinary people’s needs. Compound that with his racist and misogynistic views, and he’s very unlikely to attract new voters.

Trump has repeatedly referred to Kamala Harris as “dumb” and other similar derogatory terms. While he denigrated Hillary Clinton in many ways, he never called her “dumb” or in any way indicated that she was unintelligent. He reserved that for the Black candidate. In Trump’s world, if you’re Black (or any other “minority”), you’re not qualified for office. MSNBC’s The Weekend co-host Michael Steele discussed this issue with Dr. Basil A. Smikle, who is an MSNBC political analyst. Both agree that because Trump has nothing else to present to the American people, he settles for insults.

According to Trump, Harris has “been locked in a room” for several days, preparing for the debate. That must be her clone we’re seeing at rallies. Steele believes that Trump “should lock himself in a room and learn a few things.” Smikle mentioned that Trump’s attacks have become “much more personal, but when you combine that with the way he’s been speaking—in particular the New York Economic Club—he sounds more incoherent than we’ve ever heard.” In other words, Trump is not fit for office. Smikle further said: It is clear that he and his team know they are behind the eightball, that they’re kind of losing the narrative.” Because they can’t grow their support, they have chosen insults as their method of showing the American people that they are best for the White House. This is typical Trump backwards behavior. This nonsense is not going to win the White House for him, especially since he’s added nutty RFK to his team. It’s rather pathetic. Harris and Walz, however, continue to spread joy and hope for the future, and that’s why they’re doing so well.

Following the shooting in Winder, Georgia last week, Kamala Harris was visibly upset as she spoke at a rally. She said: “It doesn’t have to be this way.” Speaking at the Human Rights Campaign Dinner, Walz also brought up the subject and repeated Harris’s words. He also took a dig at JD Vance who said that shootings are “a fact of life.” Mass shootings are not a fact of life, and neither is banning books or whatever Republicans come up with next. Hell, Republicans aren’t a fact of life either, and we need to ensure they are all banned from holding office.
