There’s been a lot of debate over the past few years about whether Donald Trump is a narcissistic sociopath who is willing to harm others to get ahead, or a narcissistic psychopath who is willing to destroy himself in the name of harming others. Trump confessed yesterday that he’s allowing people in Washington and Michigan to die because he doesn’t like their governors.
Some observers have been trying to figure out Donald Trump’s strategy in all of this. Perhaps he’s committing mass murder in Michigan as part of some deranged strategy to magically win the swing state in November. But former Vermont Governor Howard Dean just reminded us all why nothing quite works that way:

Whatever game Donald Trump is playing here, it’s not one that’s going to help his odds in November. Even the latest Fox News poll says that Trump is far behind Joe Biden in national polling.
