Jury selection process underway against Donald Trump
Judge Tanya Chutkan has made clear that she intends for Donald Trump’s criminal trial to take place in March of 2024, and in spite of Trump’s numerous filings and antics, he hasn’t been able to delay the trial by even a single day. Now there are signs that the trial really is in the process of getting underway already.
Pre-screening forms have now gone out to potential jurors in Washington DC, according to a report from NBC News. Why does this matter? In a high profile politically charged trial like this one, there is a significant amount of jury screening to make sure that biased or partisan people can’t find their way onto the jury.
With this jury selection process now underway, it points to the fact that Donald Trump’s criminal trial truly is in the process of getting underway. There’s nothing that Trump can do to stop this trial from happening, or even delay it. He can stomp his feet and make all the nonsense filings he wants, but it’s not going to stop or even slow the inevitable.
