Donald Trump has truly jumped the shark this time
Yesterday the President of the United States stood on the stage and literally threatened to poison himself by taking a potentially fatal drug, even though he doesn’t even have the disease that he claims the drug can magically cure – and most Americans were like whatever man, go for it, poison yourself.
This is the utterly absurd new reality that we’re tragically stuck in. Thousands of Americans are dying in a plague that could have been easily prevented, the rest of us can’t leave our houses, the country has come to a halt, and all that most of us have left to root for is the hope that the monster who created this mess might take the wrong pill and accidentally off himself. You know what? Trump gets whatever he deserves at this point. But we can do better than this.
Let’s use this time to try to help each other. Whatever your current situation is, it’s probably some degree of bad, but there are others out there who have it even worse. See what you can do for them. Maybe you have resources. If not, compassion goes a long way and doesn’t cost anything.
And yes, let’s use this downtime to focus on making sure that Donald Trump and every complicit member of his party loses in November. There are downticket races that aren’t getting any media attention but are more important than ever. They need help with phone banking, data entry, you name it. These are the things you can do instead of watching Trump’s deranged press conferences each day. Let’s try to find a way to make this productive.
