Judge Sullivan just took a big swing at Bill Barr

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

When an appeals court improperly ruled that Attorney General Bill Barr had the ability to force Judge Emmet Sullivan to throw out the criminal case against Michael Flynn, Palmer Report pointed out that Sullivan still had legal options in front of him. Sure enough, he’s now exercising them in a big way.

Judge Sullivan is now asking for the entire court of appeals to step in and revive the case against Michael Flynn. If this move works, it’ll represent a major blow to Bill Barr, who has bet a significant portion of his remaining political capital on trying to get Flynn off the legal hook.

This comes even as Bill Barr appears to be nearing the end of his rope, with reports surfacing that Barr is now trying to pressure Donald Trump into not letting Roger Stone off the legal hook. Barr must have thought he could easily get Flynn off the hook, and now that it’s turned into an ugly battle, he seems to be afraid of going further down the rabbit hole.

Of course if Bill Barr can’t get Russia’s favorite son Michael Flynn off the hook, then Donald Trump is likely to be enraged. With Barr now failing Trump, and feuding with Trump, we have to wonder if the increasingly erratic Trump will even keep Barr around. At this rate nothing would surprise us.
