Judge Merchan tells Donald Trump’s attorneys to take a hike
Now that he’s been threatened with jail time, Donald Trump is sheepishly abiding by his gag order – for now. We’ll see how long it lasts before Trump loses control of himself again, or forgets what’s going on.
In the meantime, Trump’s attorneys are now trying to keep him out of jail by asking the judge to pre-approve specific social media posts that Trump wants to make. But the judge declined to do so, stating that his gag order is clear, and that it’s up to Trump to figure out what he should or shouldn’t be posting.
Trump also went on to announce at the end of the trial day that he can’t testify in his defense due to the gag order. This is a sign that 1) Trump is more senile than ever, given that the two things have nothing to do with each other, and that 2) Trump’s attorneys appear to be using the gag order as a way to steering Trump away from his desire to testify.
It’s worth noting that Trump does indeed seem to be very much afraid of getting sent to jail over his gag order. It’s also worth noting that Trump’s handlers are now trying to get pre-approval for potential Trump social media posts, suggesting that the things Trump is posting aren’t even his ideas anymore.
